Facebook Incident Response Procedure

The fastest and easiest way to remove the content from Facebook is to ask the content creator to remove it from his/ her profile or page. Also, Facebook shall only remove the content if it breaches its terms and conditions. Generally, the content that breaches Facebook’s terms and conditions include the following:  

  • Pornographic material
  • Sexually explicit content 
  • Bullying 
  • Hate speeches 
  • Violence etc

How to Report Imposter/ Fake Profiles:
Step 1: 
Locate the imposter profile on Facebook
Step 2: Report the imposter profile using Report/ Block link present at the top left hand corner of the profile 
Step 3: The person being impersonated can report the profile himself/ herself using the link:

Step 4: If the person being impersonated doesn’t has a Facebook account, then he/ she can report the imposter profile using the link:

Hacked Profiles:
If a Facebook user believes that his/ her profile has been hacked, then the following link can help secure it:

Cyber-bullying Profiles/ Pages:
The process to report bullying profiles/ pages on Facebook:
Step 1: Locate the bullying profile/ group on Facebook 
Step 2: Report the bullying profile/ group on Facebook using the Report/ Block link from the profile/ group page
